Date Palm

The date palm is an upright palm to one hundred  to one hundred twenty feet, the trunk is covered woody leaf bases.The feather-like foliage, up to twenty feet long, is made up of a spiny petiole, a stout midrib, and slender, gray-green or bluish-green pinnate 8 to 16 inch long. After a dozen years the date palm produces several suckers.
